The Rhode Island Substance Abuse Prevention Act provides for funding to study and address Substance Abuse Prevention throughout the state. The manner in which this funding is distributed has changed of late, from a community-by-community basis to a more regional approach.
As a part of this process, the South County Coalition (of which we are a part) is conducting a needs assessment to determine the priorities of the region (see link below).
Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey (it’s easy) and, by all means, spread this survey widely through Westerly. This is our opportunity to ensure that the Westerly voice is heard and that the needs of THIS community are taken into account for future spending.
We’ll be continuing to pester you with this request intermittently until this survey closes. We can't overstate the importance of having Westerly's voice at the table at this stage in the process. We’ve lost the ability to localize program dollars. As such, it behooves us to do what we can to support (and thereby benefit from) the regional initiative.
